Butler County Emergency Management Agency Takeover

As a candidate for trustee, I OPPOSE the takeover of the Butler County EMA by the Butler County Commissioners. After listening to the meeting yesterday, I am left with multiple questions and with zero evidence or documentation that this decision will improve our township.
I am also concerned that at last night's trustee meeting, one of our sitting trustees up for election this cycle—who claims to advocate for local control—repeatedly said he "didn't understand the problem" with the restructuring. When he finally seemed to understand the lack of data and the existing questions, his response was that it seemed like a foregone conclusion, so what can we do? That is not advocating for the best interest of our township. I applaud our other two trustees, our township administrator, and our fire chief for expressing their concerns in the meeting.
There is zero documentation that the restructuring would benefit the residents of West Chester - or of any part of our county, for that matter.
I URGE THE COMMISSIONERS TO TABLE THE VOTE UNTIL QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED AND TO LISTEN TO THE COUNTY FIRE AND POLICE LEADERS WHO ARE OVERWHELMINGLY OPPOSED TO THIS CHANGE.
